Scaling Smarter with BeatBox
From their launch in 2011 to acquisition by Anheuser-Busch InBev, BeatBox built a rocketship. But scaling fast creates its own challenges. As order volume grew, so did the complexity — disconnected systems, manual processes, and data that couldn't keep pace with the business. BeatBox needed a technology partner who could move as fast as they did.
BeatBox partnered with PEOPLEIT across three areas: modernizing their data analytics and reporting, beginning discovery and testing on EDI compliance and lot traceability, and extending their Business Central environment with key system integrations.
Results
-
Built the Fabric-to-Snowflake data movement layer — extraction, notebook/pipeline processing, and DEV/STAGED/PROD staging — that feeds BeatBox’s Power BI reporting, including a daily ~33-table VIP data pipeline supporting wholesaler depletion and sell-through reporting. On top of that foundation, built and refined the Revenue Tracker, Order Fulfillment, and Inventory dashboards, plus a VIP-to-BC Price Tracker to catch pricing discrepancies, giving finance and operations leaders trusted, same-day visibility instead of reconciling spreadsheets. Also brought in new sources — including Walmart’s NielsenIQ scan data, BeerBoard, and HR/recruiting/logistics feeds — to expand what the reporting environment could cover.
-
Partnered with BeatBox to land on a single lot-numbering standard and ran cross-functional discovery with Operations, Quality, IT, and co-manufacturing partners to define the regulatory and QC requirements for lot tracing. On the EDI side, worked with TMC and Orderful to test and troubleshoot transaction sets (940/943/944/945) across multiple trading partners, and built a custom tool to simulate and validate EDI documents against BeatBox’s specs, cutting down manual back-and-forth during testing. This was initial setup and testing work — it hadn’t reached production, and the lot-tracing implementation was paused, when BeatBox’s acquisition by Anheuser-Busch shifted focus to the transition.
-
Built and maintained the custom Business Central extension that nearly all of BeatBox’s BC-sourced analytics and reporting depend on, exposing sales, inventory, and financial data via secure REST endpoints for Fabric to ingest. When BeatBox moved their TMS from Turvo to Pando, rebuilt the two-way BC-Pando integration — syncing sales orders and business rules and feeding Pando’s updates back into BC — so order data kept flowing without disruption through the cutover. Also provided periodic support unblocking issues on BeatBox’s separate BC-to-Salesforce and order-intake platform integrations.
Outcomes & Impact
What started as a data and systems challenge became a foundation for scale. By modernizing BeatBox's reporting infrastructure, automating compliance-heavy EDI processes, and integrating their core business systems, PEOPLEIT helped BeatBox grow their order volume, meet retailer requirements, and make faster decisions — all without adding complexity. When Anheuser-Busch InBev came calling, BeatBox had the operational infrastructure to back up the rocketship.
